Andrew M. Waxman
Andrew's practice centers around preparation and prosecution of domestic, international and PCT patent applications in the electrical and mechanical arts. Specific areas of experience include: semiconductor processing, semiconductor packaging, consumer electronics, display devices involving display technologies such as OLEDs, PDPs, LCDs and e-paper, circuits, wireless communications and infrastructure, computer hardware and software, instant messaging, medical imaging involving technologies such as MRI, PET and CT, power generation systems, functional clothing, image processing and optics, lithography and lithographic systems, navigation devices and related software.
Andrew also devotes a portion of his practice to client counseling and preparation of legal opinions related to patentability, validity, and patent infringement.
Prior to joining the firm, Andrew worked as a Patent Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. While at the Office, he focused primarily on Class 370 (Multiplexing and Internet Telephony), including packet and circuit switched communication networks.
Through his extensive experience both inside the Office and with the Firm, Andrew has developed an expansive knowledge base regarding the practices and inter-workings of the Office. Moreover, having been "in the shoes" of the examiner, Andrew has a keen ability to understand the Office's position, which typically provides for more effective communication with the Office during prosecution. This insight along with his technical expertise and pragmatic approach to patent procurement, provides him with a unique ability to secure patents more quickly and economically for the client.

Charitable Involvement
Mr. Waxman is active with the Sarcoma Foundation of America, which advocates for increased research into new therapies with which to treat sarcoma patients. He is also active with Uplifting Athletes, which is a national nonprofit organization advocating for increased awareness for rare diseases by aligning rare diseases with college football. Andrew is also involved with several organizations that provide free legal services to cancer patients and their families.
