Donald G. Walker

Mr. Walker is an equity principal at Harness Dickey and has been with the firm for over 14 years. His practice includes preparing legal opinions relating to patentability, validity, and freedom to practice associated with various mechanical and electro-mechanical technologies. Mr. Walker also specializes in preparing and prosecuting utility and design patent applications in the U.S. and abroad; drafting intellectual property agreements; and counseling clients in the valuation and enforcement of various intellectual property rights. Mr. Walker has analyzed intellectual property portfolios to define the patent landscape and propose appropriate IP strategies.

Mr. Walker has focused his practice on assisting clients that specialize in technologies relating to power transfer mechanisms, vehicle emissions control, air intake heaters, internal combustion engines, engine control, hybrid vehicles, sheet metal stamping, casting, forging, automatic transmissions, transfer cases, clutches, brakes, universal joints, winches, differential assemblies, drive axle assemblies and suspensions.

Prior to entering the practice of intellectual property law, Mr. Walker was a Senior Project Engineer at Rockwell International, where he designed, analyzed and tested a variety of automotive components and systems including brakes, pneumatic systems, wheel ends, trailer axle assemblies and drive axle assemblies. During his twelve years with Rockwell, he was awarded four U.S. patents relating to his inventions.
