Lawrence F. Galvin
Mr. Galvin has practiced intellectual property law for more than twelve years in the Washington, D.C., area. His teaching background has proven extremely useful in communicating with patent examiners in writing and during interviews, both in person and via telephone. The firm’s proximity to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office facilitates such in-person interviews when needed.
Mr. Galvin concentrates his practice on the preparation and prosecution of domestic, international, and PCT patent applications in electrical, mechanical, and nuclear engineering, as well as advanced mathematics, biometrics, communications, cryptography, and related technology areas. He also prepares and prosecutes design patent applications. Additionally, he conducts client counseling.

Military Service
Before entering the practice of intellectual property law, Mr. Galvin spent twenty years as a nuclear submarine officer in the U.S. Navy, where he gained extensive experience in the practical application of chemical, electrical, mechanical, nuclear, ocean, and systems engineering, as well as material science. During this time, he also served on the faculty of the Naval Academy as Associate Chairman of the Physics Department and Master Instructor of Physics and Ethics. In addition, he taught at the University of Southern California as Assistant Professor of Naval Science. He also served as Associate General Counsel at the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board.
