Matthew L. Cutler
Mr. Cutler's practice encompasses the handling of a broad spectrum of contested intellectual property matters. He counsels clients, ranging from emerging businesses to multi-nationals, in connection with their worldwide intellectual property portfolios.
His specialties include patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret litigation; freedom-to-operate opinions, both infringement and validity analyses; counseling for international disputes, and due diligence support pertaining to intellectual property transactions. Prior to entering law school, Mr. Cutler worked as a process engineering and production supervisor for a multinational consumer products company.
Mr. Cutler has extensive experience in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri handling intellectual property rights litigation matters. Further, Mr. Cutler has served in many cases as local counsel in light of his participation as one of two patent attorneys on a committee to draft Local Patent Rules for the Eastern District of Missouri (the Local Patent Rules were adopted on January 1, 2011). Mr. Cutler is also a certified mediator, handling all varieties of complex litigation, with a focus on federal causes of action, including patent litigation, trademark litigation, copyright litigation, misappropriation of trade secrets litigation, and other cases involving intellectual property laws.
