Michael Malinzak
Mr. Malinzak’s practice centers around the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the mechanical, electro-mechanical, business methods, control systems, biomedical, and computer arts. He prepares freedom to practice, due diligence, and patent validity opinions, and negotiates agreements for dispute settlement and licensing matters. He has extensive experience assessing intellectual property portfolio strength and value, including the planning of protection and exploitation; and in advising dispute resolution and litigating claims and defenses.
Mr. Malinzak also devotes a considerable share of his practice to the counseling of clients in a broad range of intellectual property matters including patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, antitrust, and cyberpiracy law.
In addition to his practice at Harness Dickey, Mr. Malinzak is an Adjunct Professor at University of Detroit School of Law. He teaches a third-year course covering intellectual property due diligence in mergers and acquisitions.
