Michael J. Schmidt

The focus of Mr. Schmidt's practice is on the preparation and prosecution of patents involving mechanical systems.

Prior to entering law school, he was employed by Saginaw Division of General Motors Corporation where he designed and developed steering, suspension and driveline components such as ball joints, intermediate shafts and constant velocity joints.

During law school and prior to entering private practice, Mr. Schmidt was employed by GKN Automotive Inc., where he worked as the Director of Engineering, developing driveline systems; and then as the in-house patent counsel.
