Support Staff

Each member of Harness Dickey’s staff is highly valued and integral to the firm’s success. We hire staff within the following categories:

Paralegals assist with litigation and prosecuting patent and trademark applications. A wide variety of work allows for diverse assignments. Some paralegals specialize in particular fields, while others have a range of projects. Paralegals are entrusted with challenging and rewarding work, and have the unique opportunity to advance their knowledge of IP law.

Legal Administrative Assistants focus on preparations of patent and trademark applications, correspondence with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, and litigation support. Assistants’ work corresponds with the practice area of the legal professional with whom they work. Please see our Practice Areas for details on various areas in which an assistant may be placed.

Accounting Assistants support the firm’s day-to-day operations, including invoicing, accounts receivable, disbursement, and overall finance management. Positions range from controller to accounts payable clerks.

Information Services Staff provide support for software, hardware, the client extranet, and the firm website, all while managing an extensive network and servicing a variety of programs across operations.

Docketing & Auditing Staff track the progress of over 100,000 patent and trademark applications through the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. They also generate internal reminders for upcoming deadlines.

International Staff correspond with and collect information from patent offices around the world, as they assist with management of the firm’s global IP protection network.

Office Assistant positions include couriers, receptionists, and mail room coordinators. Answering phones, managing records, welcoming clients and guests, and preparing refreshment service are some of the tasks involved.
