Harness IP Announces New Class of Principals for 2021

Harness IP, one of the nation’s largest and most respected intellectual property law firms, is pleased to announce that patent attorneys Charlie Franklin and Brad Luchsinger have been promoted to Principal, effective January 1, 2021.

Charlie Franklin, Ph.D. is a patent attorney in the firm’s Clayton, Missouri office. He advises some of the firm’s largest clients in the computer, electronics, and mechanical industries. His expertise spans technologies related to computer software and processing systems, power supplies and circuits, electric motor controls, wireless communications, and HVAC systems. In addition to preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications, Dr. Franklin prepares freedom to operate opinions and assists with litigation matters, including Inter Partes Review (IPR) trials. He holds a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Missouri.

Brad Luchsinger is a patent attorney and IP litigator in the firm’s Troy, Michigan office. He enforces the IP rights of both domestic and international clients in courts across the U.S., and recently secured a victory on behalf of client WP Innova (formerly Western Plastics) in a jury trial held by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. His experience includes handling matters related to patent, trademark, and trade dress infringement, as well as trade secret, unfair competition, false patent marking, and antitrust matters. Luchsinger also prepares and prosecutes patent applications directed to automotive technologies, consumer appliances, valves, electromagnetic devices, and building structures. He received his J.D. from Michigan State College of Law, magna cum laude, and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
