Intellectual property firm Harness Dickey on Friday said it hired a former ExxonMobil in-house attorney with experience handling patents for a research and engineering unit to join its Dallas metropolitan office.
David Weisberg comes from ExxonMobil Research & Engineering Co., where he handled strategic IP matters for several energy, petroleum and petrochemical sectors for the company, Harness Dickey said.
At his new firm, Weisberg will focus on guiding clients in biopharmaceutical and chemical industries, as well as counseling firm clients on IP portfolio management and licensing and monetization strategies for their patents, according to Harness Dickey.
“We are honored to have Dave join our firm,” Harness Dickey Principal Gerald Welch said in a statement Friday. “Dave is an experienced patent attorney with outstanding legal talent and a real ability to adapt to new industries and technologies. Our clients will benefit greatly from his skills.”
