“Trademark and copyright issues faced by political campaigns,” Inside Counsel, July 11, 2016

It’s election season, and while the rhetoric is heating up, so are the intellectual property (IP) issues. Political Campaigns will do almost anything to get their message across, and sometimes this results in the trampling of IP rights.

Bryan Wheelock, principal, Harness Dickey, recently sat down with Inside Counsel to discuss why these IP issues are heating up with election season. “IP issues are heating up because politics is a seasonal business. “Although while we are in the middle of the campaign season, it is difficult to remember a time when we weren’t being inundated with political, mercifully we only hear from politicians in the lead up to Election Day,” he said.
