Jeanette Berberich

Jeanette’s practice focuses on patenting new technologies in the electrical and optical fields. As an electrical engineer turned patent attorney, she counsels clients in numerous industries as they bring their key innovations to wider markets. She regularly prepares and prosecutes patents, provides patentability opinions, and leverages her litigation support experience to meticulously inspect her clients’ assets for potential risks. In addition to working with large, multi-national corporations, her experience also includes working directly with individual inventors.

Jeanette’s background in electrical engineering includes significant proficiency in computer science and programming. Where inside counsel may not fully understand the interplay between the two fields, her broad expertise allows her to effectively draft patent claims and more efficiently obtain patent registrations. When issues do arise, Jeanette is able to communicate easily with inventors, experts and Examiners at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and successfully set her clients back on the right course for patent protection.

Before becoming a patent attorney, Jeanette worked in multiple roles centered around engineering and programming. Her experience includes developing programs using open source coding to analyze MRI results for Alzheimer’s patients, programming embedded systems directed to Laser technology, and working with a local municipality to use GPS systems to assist civil engineering projects.

With an engineer’s passion for exploration, Jeanette also enjoys hiking and travelling around the world.
