Stephanie L. Dowdy

Stephanie prepares and prosecutes patent applications pertaining to the mechanical, electromechanical and biomedical fields. In addition, she assists in the preparation of legal opinions, including invalidity, patentability and freedom-to-practice opinions. She also works on a variety of intellectual property litigation matters, including patent, copyright, trademark and trade secret claims.
Stephanie strives to create solutions that serve her client’s best interest. Easy-to-work with and personable, Stephanie’s clients appreciate that she carefully analyzes and communicates the opportunities and threats so that the best possible decision can be made going forward. Stephanie’s goal is to deliver comprehensive research and high-quality work product to every matter. She is dedicated to understanding the industry in which her client’s operate. An engineer herself, Stephanie easily interacts with other engineers and inventors who appreciate her technical ability when analyzing, discussing and articulating the distinguishing features of their innovations.
While pursuing her engineering degree, Stephanie worked at General Motors as a Product Engineer in noise and vibration on car platforms, drive-ability and fuel economy pertaining to full-size truck platforms. After graduation, Stephanie worked at General Motors as a Powertrain Engineer, where she calibrated V8 full-size truck and 2.0L turbo engines. In law school, Stephanie worked as a full-time Patent Clerk at Harness Dickey, assisting in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications and litigation matters.
