Thomas E. Schiano (Tom)

Thomas focuses his practice on the strategic development of patent portfolios in the mechanical and chemical fields. He focuses on all aspects of the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, product lifecycle management, as well as providing support for dispute resolution and litigation related to intellectual property matters.
Thomas has experience in handling intellectual property matters concerning medical devices, consumer products, financial services products and e-commerce, among others. He also has technical experience across a variety of disciplines, including biomaterials, materials science, tissue engineering and biomechanics.
Prior to law school, Thomas served as a Management Consultant for Deloitte Consulting LLP, where he worked on large-scale system implementation projects for both private and public sector clients in the healthcare and financial services industries. Having worked as a consultant prior to becoming a patent attorney, Thomas has developed a strong sense for understanding and catering to the needs of his clients. As a result, he is dedicated to maximizing both their time and resources on every matter in which he is involved.
